Q: Hi there! Just wondering, is the airport code for Birmingham BHX? I'm researching airfare and I just want to make sure I'm looking at the right thing.
acteon-carolsfeld

BHX is correct :) hope you can get here!

Simon has opened up a thread over on the AA forums asking people what they’d like to see at AA2015, so I thought I’d grab onto his coattails and pose this same question to you lot over here.

We already have some exciting new things in the pipeline for next year that haven’t been revealed yet, but direct feedback from you, our community is always good, cus it helps us improve the Auto Assembly experience for everyone.

This is less to do with things like guests, and more to do with stuff like activities or events such as panels, workshops, displays and so on. Though feel free to make any suggestions at all you can think of. We wanna hear them all. What do you want to see at AA2015?

- Isa

Still open for suggestions if anyone has any more

You can have a Throw Bottles at Shaun party if someone pays the airfare.

More focus on gundams

These are all obviously excellent suggestions

Isa I’m placing this behind a cut because it’s lengthy:

I was wondering when you were gonna send me this!

I’ve spoken to Billy about the issue of fanart already - in fact we had a pretty long Facebook conversation about it a while ago where I raised a lot of these points you’re talking about and we discussed ideas for how to improve the way fanart is sold at AA, and how to better include and spotlight fanartists, crafters, cosplayers etc. I can’t go into specifics because obviously, it’s early days and we can’t give away our secrets, but yeah, this is something both of us and other peeps behind the scenes definitely want to improve on. Things are in motion, basically.

The fansales table was not ideal, no. My personal opinion is also that there needs to be a space for fanart/crafts/etc that’s separate from the fansales table.

As you say, these are works of art that have had a lot of time and effort put into them, and they deserve to be treated as such.

Thank you for the detailed post. I appreciate it =)

I can’t remember if I shared these on the AA tumblr yet (I’m sure Isa will help if not) but here are all our edible cupcake toppers from this year’s birthday party, featuring fan art and logos :)

Another Time and Place Part 1 of 2
This is my adaptation of the first half of the prose story of the same name by Simon Furman which was in the last Marvel UK Transformers annual and was the first ending to Transformers, predating Generation 2 and Regeneration One.
This was serialised a page at a time online, and a nice printed collection was available at Auto Assembly this year, the print version had nicely redone lettering and some minor remastering as well as a couple of A to Z profiles.
If you missed your chance at picking it up at Auto Assembly you can download a nice hi-res PDF for free at Gumroad.

Roll Out Roll Call is in 5 weeks time in Southampton, if you can’t wait an entire year for another Transformers convention (and this one has other stuff too). Quite a few of the AA crowd will be there =)

For at AA thing can we all please request a fanart alley/table that isnt the fans table?

Thank

pssst write these on the actual post so I can find ‘em easier »

I can’t say what will come of it because it’s early days, but I can say that fanart/fancrafts/cosplay/etc involvement in the convention is something that’s been talked about. We really enjoyed the fanart project, and got positive feedback about it, and would like to do something more with that kind of stuff.
